Most electricity (EI, orange) is imported to this region in the very south of Sweden but some is produced locally (Bränslebaserad=fuel-based). Remarkable are the small losses (Förluster) by power production. This is due to the combined (CHP) production of electricity and district heating (Fjärrvärme). District heating is a means to utilise energy resources that are difficult to use in individual buildings. It here uses mostly domestic renewable solid fuels (Förnybart Fast, largely wood chips and municipal waste) but also industrial waste heat (Ind spillvärme) and imported fossil gas for a CHP plant in Malmö. Fossilt (Flytande) is mostly imported automotive fuel. The consuming sectors are households, industry, private services, public services, agriculture and transport.

Tha nk you so much for the reply – and apologies that I reply only now (there was no automatic email alert). We found the solution in: I basically frew the Sankey diagram by hand, and passed it over to the designer who turned it over an electornic diagram pretty quickly. But the links you provided are extremely useful, thank you so much for them! I will need to go there back in the future as we are trying to do more infographics. Once our research is published, I will send you the link to our Sankey diagram Thanks again!

@Ivetta: I imagine that any graphic designer could do such a job. But to find one that has previous experience with Sankey diagrams AND enjoys doing this AND can do it quickly is probably not very easy.

I suggest you take a look at http://www.freelancer.com/job-search/infographics/ or https://www.elance.com/d/d/infographics or https://marketplace.visual.ly/ and post a request there.

Another approach would be to browse through the About/Contact sections of some of the blogs mentioned in my blogroll at the right.

Or, if you find a Sankey diagram here on my blog that you like (or that pretty much looks like a diagram you are imagining for your publication), let me know. I might be able to identify who created a specific Sankey diagram.
